Apricot Blonde

This was another beer at the 7/11 near the Hammerhead building in Yokohama. As I have been looking at my fridge and realising that I have beers that have been sitting there for some time, I am now trying to go through them. With that being said. This week I am reviewing Apricot Blonde by the Dry Dock Brewing company.
The first thing that hits you is the colour. You can’t escape it. Most Blonde Ales are very light in their colour, but this is a very vibrant orange colour. They say this beer has been brewed with apricot puree, so maybe this is where its colour comes from. However, the colour is not so deep that you can’t see through it. It is still very transparent. Carbonation with this beer is relatively high, which I was not expecting. even as I have opened this beer and writing this review, there are still bubbles coming to the top of the drink
As I went in for the initial smell, I did get a distinct aroma of apricots (which I was not surprised about). When I take a couple of sips, I can taste the apricots, but I feel their flavour is being overpowered by a distinct beer flavour. This does not mean that it is not sweet, but the beer flavour does come through quite strong. The flavour of the apricots mainly hits the tip of my tongue, where the beer flavour hits the middle of the young and the back of my throat.
In conclusion, I was very excited about this beer but was disappointed about how weak that apricot flavour was. It is not a bad beer, but I think I was let down by my expectations, but what do you think? Was I right or wrong with my review? Let me know what you think.
Remember to drink responsibly.
