Quarantine. That is my life right now. I have flown back to Australia to visit my family and due to the pandemic. It means that I have to be in 14 days of quarantine. I can't leave my room, and nobody can enter it. Though thankfully, it does not mean that I can not do beer reviews. I have ordered a beer for tonight. This week I shall be reviewing Little Creatures Pale Ale

When I first have a look at this beer. It is defiantly not what I think how a pale ale should look like. It's like a golden; I would say honey colour to it, so while it might be classed as a pale ale. It does not look the part. Usually, I would see a lighter, less coloured look. Looking for carbonation, I can see there is some carbonation. There are not that many big bubbles, but I can see some. they are most noticeable around the side of the glass, but you can still see some in the middle two.

When I take a smell, I am getting this sweet hoppy smell, the hops are not strongly present, but I can smell them. When I took my first sip, there was nothing that shouted out at me. There was some bitterness, some sweetness, but nothing that made me really pay attention to it. After a couple of sips, I think the star of the show is the sweetness. This is not a sweetness like a hazy IPA or like a juicy beer. But there is a hoppy sweetness. The second thing you pay attention to is the bitterness that hits the back of the throat. However, it does not stay there for long.

I think this beer is a complex yet simple beer at the same time. Little Creatures is quite a well-known beer company in Australia, especially Western Australia, because it originated in Fremantle, which is close to Perth. This was their first breakthrough beer, and I can see why. It is not an offensive beer, but it is also not one that disappears into the mountains of other beers out there in the world. I like this beer, but it's about the middle of the range for me.

But what do you think? Do you agree with what I said? Or do you think I am wrong? Let me know in the comments.

Remember to drink responsibly.
